F1 team and new car livery 2021: unveiling date.
The published unveiling dates for 2021 F1 Cars are the ones of McLaren, AlphaTauri, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes, Williams and Ferrari. The team of Maranello will reaveal SF21 in a event splitted in two parts, one dedicated to the team and the other to the car launch.
Haas F1: the burden of being called ‘Schumacher’.
It hasn’t been a quiet winter break for Haas as the return of the Schumacher name to F1 attracted headlines and Mick Schumacher’s team-mate Nikita Mazepin attracted the wrong sort.
Mercedes and Hamilton finally agree terms on a new contract, although only a one-year deal announced for the 2021 season.
The W11 was the class of the field and helped the team to a seventh consecutive constructors’ championship.
Mercedes is yet to announce its plans to launch the W12, though the team has traditionally run a private shakedown at Silverstone ahead of winter testing to get to grips with each of its new car (see full statement here).
Push that ❤️ button. Because trust us, you're gonna want to hear this. 😉

Ferrari. SF21 the new F1 of Maranello.
Binotto confirmed that the team’s ’21 engine was showing positive results on the dyno, but admitted that it isn’t out of the woods as other teams could make another step forward in power.

Red Bull with RB17. The new creature of Adrian Newey.
This year, the team will be able to build on the momentum it gained towards the end of the season as it out-paced Mercedes in Abu Dhabi, but we’ve been here before. Whether the team has unlocked a step in performance or if the champions just eased off the neck of its rival will become clear after the opening round of the season.
Red Bull has not announced its schedule for a 2021 car launch. The team has unveiled its car digitally first in the past before conducting a shakedown at Silverstone ahead of winter testing.
McLaren with an ‘extra’ Australian driver.
McLaren has usually launched its new cars from the McLaren Technology Centre ahead of winter testing but is yet to confirm its intentions for the 2021 launch.
The new Mercedes engine roars on MCL35.
McLaren’s engineers have been busy boys and girls over the winter, working hard to adapt their MCL35 chassis to accommodate the team’s new Mercedes power units ahead of the 2021 season.
And the fruits of their labour have now been heard around the world, with McLaren releasing footage of the MCL35M’s first fire-up – traditionally a landmark moment in the gestation of a new car.

McLaren unveil Mercedes-engined MCL35M to be piloted by Ricciardo and Norris in 2021
Visually, the MCL35M looks similar to its MCL35 predecessor, with teams having been forced to use modified versions of their 2020 chassis this year, ahead of the introduction of all-new cars in 2022 – while the MCL35M also sports McLaren’s now-traditional papaya-and-blue colour scheme.
Alpha Tauri, the sister of Red Bull.
Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda will partner Pierre Gasly at the team in place of Daniil Kvyat after a very impressive rookie season in Formula 2 last year.
The AT02 is the second Formula 1 car produced by the team, previously known as Toro Rosso, since its rebranding. AlphaTauri has revealed renderings of its new car and pictures of its updated livery applied to last year’s AT01
Aston Martin: the rebrand of Racing Point.
The team published a teaser of its rebrand from Racing Point ahead of its intended February launch and the pink is gone in favour of a return to racing green.
Williams, reborn for 2021?
Though the chance for a clean slate really begins in 2022, team principal Simon Roberts stated last year that the fresh funding will allow the team to operate near the upper limits of the budget cap rules that come into effect this year.
One area that will have been focused in on is the floor, which will be different for each team this year with new rules designed to slow the cars down to keep the Pirelli tyres in safe conditions.
Alpine. A new name for Renault and an old-young Fernando Alonso.
Renault becomes Alpine for 2021, with the French manufacturer morphing into and taking the name of the company’s competition division.
The return of Fernando Alonso to the Enstone team he won both of his world championships with is one of the major narratives heading into the 2021 season, but the team will have to make a major step if it is going to provide him with a race-winning car this year.
Volume up…Alpine brings the A521 to life.
The sweetest sound to everyone working for @AlpineF1Team. Welcome to the world A521. May you be fun to race, hard to pass and seriously fast.

Alonso collision while cycling, near his home in Switzerland.
Alpine F1 team expecting the two-time champion to be “fully operational to undertake preparation for the season” after a period of rest after successful surgery on fractured upper jaw; Alonso was involved in a collision with a car, which was turning into a supermarket car park.
Alfa Romeo. Kimi-Giovinazzi line-up confirmed.
The team usually unveils its car on the first morning of winter testing, and that is likely to be the case once again with the compressed winter break.
